Unshakable Hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

A Christian is someone who…

Has admitted they’re a member of the human race; a sinner; “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Has realized that there are consequences to their sin in this life and for eternity; “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” & “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 6:23 & 5:8)

Has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior (repented of their sins and committed their life for Jesus Christ); “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”                                     (Romans 10:9-10)

  1. I am learning to, I have moments where I am with people from my life who are not Christians, and I fall. I left that life behind so I could lift my life out of the darkness it was in. I can not avoid the atheist world

  2. I am none of the above. I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’m an atheist but I am far from the Christian my parents raised me as.

I am however open-minded and as well as enjoying a good philosophical debate I have a huge interest and Bill and his condition.
I am also paralysed from the neck down and I’m on a ventilator 24 hours a day as I can’t breathe for myself.

I think I can learn something about strength through reading your posts.

    Best wishes

  4. I concur with your interpretation of what a Christian is …. being more about what we realize, expect, and do about ourselves and our behavoiur…. and not what we realize, expect, and do about others 🙂

I have been trying to figure out a simple way to share this on my blog page. I love how you broke it down. Now I have some ideas of how to write it up on my site.

    God Bless!

I am saved by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of my testimony–hallelujah, praise His Name, Jesus, forever! God bless you!
